The Kayon Jungle Resort – Adults Only (15+)

The Kayon Jungle Resort is a 38-room luxury resort in the jungle of Payangan, and it accepts guests from 15. Its architecture follows traditional Balinese lines, with statues and carved details, and it opened in 2018.

Three tiers of pool

The pool drops in three tiers with jungle views, and there are also indoor and outdoor pools. Rooms are Jungle Suites or pool villas, with the Valley, Premier and Royal villas each having a private pool and a balcony over the valley. The spa has a sauna, a steam room, a hot tub and an open-air bath, and morning yoga takes place in a pavilion.

Floating breakfast and evening shows

Breakfast can float on your pool, or be continental or a la carte. Kepitu restaurant serves local and international food, and Wanna Jungle is the pool bar. Reviews single out the jungle views and the food. Evenings bring live music and themed dinners, and a butler looks after requests.

Far from central Ubud

The resort is remote, about 10 km and an hour's drive from central Ubud, though a free area shuttle runs. A waterfall at Taro Village is 3.7 km away, and Ubud Palace 11.3 km. The nearest airport, Ngurah Rai International, is 43.5 km away.
